Concept94 News
Concept94 has kicked off 2008 with several 9by4 tournaments planned for NSW, QLD, and WA (See Calendar). In 2008 9by4 takes in 9 locations, including capital cities and regional areas, with more locations to be announced. Our goal is to get communities actively involved in this modified game of basketball that promotes fitness, fun, and health. We enjoy getting the communities active in a friendly and encouraging environment where all are inspired to participate. 9by4 is designed to encourage kids and adults of all abilities around the country to maintain a healthy, active lifestyle in a fun environment. So be sure to check the calendar and see when a 9by4 tournament will be in a community near you.
Concept94 successfully launched its modified game of basketball with the inaugural 9by4 tournament on the 18th of November 2007 at Avondale College in Cooranbong NSW. Over 100 participants attended the day made up of school-aged players. Teams from the Central Coast of NSW, and even as far as Newcastle contributed to this new run'n and gun'n slam'n and jam'n style of basketball. Even we were surprised that EVERYONE, players and spectators, had such an AWESOME time. We also included an adult exhibition 9by4 game that was made up of non traditional basketball players consisting of neuroscientists, financial planners, health care professionals and social basketball players, which reinforces that this game is a for everyone and is not just for elite athletes.
Following a break over the Christmas holidays the 2008 Year will commence with a 9by4 tournament on the Central Coast and the Hunter region of NSW sometime in March.
Lastly, we are excited that this activity is being introduced into a number of High Schools on the Central Coast and Hunter region in 2008.
